Casting hands using Alginate was one of the hardest but fun process with the kids. The youngest amongst them was just three years old!
Teaching these young kids has been a very fun and challenging thing for someone like myself. Previously I had never really engaged with kids between the age of 3-6 purely because I had no idea how to. Visual arts became a platform for me to engage with our future generations in a safe, fun and learning environment.
These students of mine between the age of 6.5 - 10 continues to amaze me on their abilities in using colours, tones, textures and scale to create their first 100% solo paintings without others editing.
As a teacher my roll is to enhance their practical making skills, ways in perceiving things and challenge their thinkings. It has been a extremely tiring but rewarding journey for my students and I. I am very happy with their results and I look forward to show them more!
Making sculptures has been a pretty important thing for me since the day I started practicing visual arts. I have always been thinking about how am I going to teach kids sculpture while they might not even have a clue what is it. Here are a few examples of a few brave ones who has fallen into the dark side
It has been a very busy and complicated time for the last two months in Hong Kong. I found it challenging and often having to find energy from some where to give these kids the best art education that they can get in within the time they are here in Little Dolphin. Their smile and the sense of accomplishment they get after completing these works are what keeps me going. Sharing some examples above.
Messy play continues to be one of the important element for our art course at Little Dolphin Education. At first I was unsure how the kids would react to the idea of drawing on windows; 🤔breaking the convention of drawing on a piece of paper. It turn out great and they had so much fun!
After moving back to Hong Kong, I started an education company, Little Dolphin Education with friends; providing a space for kids to learn and explore In an unrestricted but guided manner. Messy and sensory play is one of the activities that we had. They all had fun and got really ‘messy’
Students are really focusing and doing a really good job on their art projects today!
